András Erdély, the son of an influential MP, is placed in a psychiatric sanatorium to escape punishment for the murder of his wife. Through his memories and intimate confessions, the viewer gets to know the atmosphere of the house ruled by his despotic father, the son's journey from "better society" to a social career and uncovers the secret of his sexual deviations, everything that led András, a mentally disturbed man, to crime. The story of love, morbid passion and hatred is also a questioning of the roots of evil in man, of responsibility for one's own actions and of the limits of tolerance and medical ethics.
